| On Translation Strategies of Huang Yuanshen’s Chinese Version of The Old Man and The Sea Under Adaptation Theory 摘要 美国著名作家海明威的代表作《老人与海》，在世界范围内享有美誉，同时被称为是影响历史的百部经典之一。作者运用独特的“冰山原则”写作手法，突出海明威凝练简洁的语言风格，成功塑造了一座勇于同困境搏斗的铁骨铮铮的硬汉形象。其独特的语言风格深受读者的喜爱，同时也引起了翻译界的学者和专家的关注。本文将从顺应论的角度分析黄源深《老人与海》汉译本的翻译策略。语言顺应论是耶夫·维索尔伦提出的语言理论，该理论的核心是语言使用是一个动态顺应的过程。翻译作为一种语言使用过程，要遵循语言顺应论的原则，在翻译目的的指导下，译文的选择应该根据不同的语言结构及语境关系而变化。同时，在翻译过程中，译者需要根据目的语的重构，采取不同的翻译策略，以实现词汇层面、句法层面及语言语境、交际语境的动态顺应。 关键词：顺应论；语言结构；语境关系；翻译策略 Abstract The famous American writer Hemingway's representative work The Old Man and the Sea enjoys a worldwide reputation and is also known as one of the one hundred classics that influence history. The author uses the unique writing technique of "iceberg principle" tohighlight Hemingway's concise language style,and successfully creates an image of a tough guy who is brave enough to struggle with difficulties. Its unique language style is deeply loved by readers and has also attracted the attention of scholars and experts in the field of translation. This paper will analyze the translation strategies of Huang Yuanshen's Chinese version of The Old Man and the Sea from the perspective of adaptation theory. Linguistic adaptation theory is a theory of language proposed by Jef Verschueren.The core of the theory is that language use is a process of dynamic adaptation.As a process of language use,translation should follow the principle of linguistic adaptation theory. Under the guidance of translation purpose,the choice of translation should be changed according to different language structures and contextual relations. At the same time, in the process of translation,the translator needs to adopt different translation strategies according to the reconstruction of the target language to realize the dynamic adaptation of the lexical level, syntactic level, linguistic context and communicative context.
