Abstract
For the problems existing in primary English class, this thesis explores a new model to encourage the combination of encouraging discourse and critical discourse. These two kinds of discourses complement each other and add appropriate practices. As a communicative language, "encouraging discourse" and "critical discourse" play important roles in teaching communication. It uses a wide range of functions, especially in social communication functions. There are five parts. The first part gives a brief overview of teachers' critical discourse and the research role of encouraging discourse, meaning and purpose. The second part is the literature review, which integrates the author's views and my own opinions. The third part elaborates the characteristics and positive and negative aspects of encouraging discourse and critical discourse in this research. The fourth part is the application of encouraging discourse and critical discourse in the primary school English classroom . This part expounds it should be used in the right time and make the encouraging discourse play important roles. We should use flexible criticism language to relieve consideration the student and to make amends. In part five, the author elaborates the conclusion and points out the point of view, and obtains the innovation point of this research, and discusses the theory and significance, the limitation of the research and the application of the follow-up study. In this thesis, the encouragement and criticism are analyzed from two perspectives, such as the use, the timing and the role of the students. It also discusses the use of encouragement and critical discourse in primary English teaching, as well as its effect and influence on teachers and students. In teaching practice, every teacher should pay attention to the principle of praise and criticism, use the characteristics of different students timely to appropriately praise and criticize the students. They will inevitably cherish praise, willing to accept criticism, which correctly guide and development main body personality.
