| 导游口译目的论 On the Problems and Strategies of Tour Guide Interpretation causedby Cultural Differences from the Perspective of Skopos Theory Abstract With the boom of Tourism in China,the importance of Chinese-English guided interpretation has increased significantly .As a kind of cross-cultural communication activity,guide interpreting is bound to have cross-culturalcommunication barriers due to the differences between China and the West in values, ways of thinking, social customs, human history, religious beliefs and other aspects, which will inevitably affect the interpretation effect .It is of great practical significance for spreading Chinese culture and improving the international status of Chinese culture to properly handle the cultural differences between Chinese and English guide interpreters and successfully realize cross-cultural communication .Guide interpretation is a typical purposeful interpersonal communication activity.Therefore, it is feasible to apply skopos theory to guide interpretation .This paper aims to explain the methods of overcoming cultural barriers in guide interpreting based on the theory of purpose,and to seek theoretical framework and methodsthat are instructive for the practice of translating cultural barriers in guide interpreting, and to expand the application of this theory .This paper first explains the skopos theory and its principles from the perspective of Skopos theory, then analyzes the cultural barriers in the interpreting process of tour guides, and on this basis puts forward some practical translation methods.
