An Analysis of the Couple’s Choice in You Are the One and Take Me Out from the Perspective of Marriage 从婚姻观的角度浅析《非诚勿扰》和《Take Me Out》中的伴侣选择 Abstract With the rapid development of modern society, people's attitudes toward love and marriage experience tremendous changes. Many people no longer follow the traditional view of love and marriage. Nowadays, the change of modern culture has provided plenty of material for television programs. Some TV producers take advantage of the entertainment and provide single blinddies of men and women with such programs as Take Me Out and the Chinese version of You Are the One. These programs have their own characteristics, and show the differences between different cultures. Take Me Out is a dating game show by comedian Paddy McGuinness. It is based on the Taken Out program in Australia. The program started on January 2, 2010 in the UK on ITV and on TV3 in the Republic of Ireland. Take Me Out entertaining strong, the Guardian's Tim Dowling said that, "When you strip away its tired, utterly false premise, all that remains of Take Me Out is a lot of flashing lights and some scripted innuendo delivered in a range of regional accents."(Dowling, Tim, 2013), but it fully reflects the feelings of Westerners as the concept. You Are the One is not a completely innovative program. It is based on Take Me Out from Fremantle Media in the United Kingdom. You Are the One is a comprehensive emotional category program, which blind date as a starting point, with a lot of social observation, humanistic thinking. This paper analyzes the main differences of the concept of love and marriage among young people in China and the British through the performances of male and female guests in these two programs. And the purpose is to get modern people's idea of love and marriage from the reality program as well as discussing and making suggestions for the abnormal marriage and love that scenes have appeared in the program.
