A comparative study of business communication discourse in Chinese and English

ABSTRACT
 
 Every country and nation has its own language and culture. With the trend of globalization and the increasing frequency of international business activities, it shows the necessity of multi-cultural understanding and the importance of intercultural communication competence.At the same time, communication between countries around the world is inevitable and we are destined to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. However, problems in intercultural communication emerged. Both the cultural background and inherent thinking set hinder effective cross-cultural communication.To solve this problem, It requires us to understand the cultural characteristics and language differences of different countries and master the skills of communication.
From the perspective of intercultural communication, this thesis aims to further understand the differences between English and Chinese business communications discourse.There are three parts in this thesis.The first part aims to understand cross-cultural communication from different aspects.Part two is about the importance, competence, traits, and related theories of intercultural business communication.Part three discusses the differences between English and Chinese business communication from verbal styles and speech acts and skills.

 摘要
 
  每个国家和民族都有其自身的语言和文化。随着全球化的趋势、国际商务活动的日益频繁,越来越显示出对多元文化理解的必要性和跨文化交际能力的重要性。世界各国之间的交流不可避免,我们注定要和来自不同文化背景的人交流。与此同时,跨文化交际中的问题随之显现出来。无论是从文化背景还是固有的思维定势,都对高效的跨文化交流形成了障碍。因此,要解决这一问题,这就要求我们理解不同国家的文化特点、语言差异和掌握交际的技巧。
    本文从跨文化交际的角度分析,旨在了解英汉商务交际语的不同。论文共由三部分组成,第一部分旨在从不同角度来理解跨文化交际,第二部分主要写跨文化商务交际的重要性、能力及有关学说,第三部分从语言风格和语言行为探讨英汉商务交际语的不同及交际策略。

   The success of an organization depends on the communication skills or of all its employees.If you want to be successful in business you need to be a good communicator.Your success in business,whatever your position or organization, will depend greatly on your ability to communicate,perhaps more so than on any other knowledge or skill. so you need to learn more differences in different cultures and languages.
