The Effectiveness of Inquiry-Based Teaching in English Grammar Teaching
Abstract
Inquiry-Based Teaching is a kind of teaching method that focuses on students' exploration ofchallenging questions, which will guide students to find answers proactively and creatively.The paper refers to an experimental study about the effectiveness of Inquiry-Based Teaching at one school in Laizhou. The 96 subjects involved in the research are from two intact classes taught by the author in Laizhou Senior high school. One of the two classes is the controlled class (CC); the other is the experimental class (EC).There are 47 students in the experimental class including 22 boys and 25girls while the control class has 49 students with 24 boys and 25 girls. The author adopted questionnaire to collect data.The data show that Inquiry-Based Teaching can attract students' interest in learning grammar.Based on the above findings,it can be concluded that Inquiry-Based Teaching is an effective method to teach grammar.
