| An Analysis of the Satire Art in Gulliver’s Travels Abstract Gulliver’s Travels is one of the classic works of the famous Irish writer Jonathan Swift.Because in this work the plots is interesting, the characters are diverse and representative.He was once called “one of the creators of world literature”by Gorky.At the meantime Jonathan Swift was also a famous satirist.Gulliver’s travels is a work of great literary value. Gulliver’s Travels, published in 1726,mainly reflects various contradictions in British society in the first half of the 18th century. It used a lot of irony, contrast, exaggeration and fiction to describe the British at that time.In addition, each plot is described in detail and vividly interesting, giving people the feeling of being on the scene. When readers read the Lilliput and Brobdingnag,we will obviously feel the social malpractice,the dispute between parties, the internal and external troubles of the country, which makes us worry about the British at that time. In the last two chapters, the author directly created the Laputa and the Houyhnhnms.Although there is the feeling of “Utopia”,there are still slavery and hierarchy, so the “Utopia” in peoples mind is impossible to realize. But these fantasies are based on reality.Clever use of different satire methods,the purpose is to express to people at that time the British society is dark and corrupt as well as the evil of human nature. For a long time, scholars at home and abroad have studied the satirical method in this work from various angles. Therefore, this paper will make an in-depth study of satirical art and satirical method through four chapters in Gulliver’s Travels. Key Words：Jonathan Swift; Gulliver’s Travels; satirical method ; satirical art 《格列佛游记》中的讽刺艺术分析 摘要 《格列佛游记》是爱尔兰著名作家乔纳森·斯威夫特的经典代表作之一。因为其情节有趣，人物类型多样化且都具有代表性。同时乔纳森·斯威夫特也是一位有名的讽刺文学大师。他曾被高尔基称为“世界文学创造者之一”。《格列佛游记》是一部具有非常高文学价值的作品。 此作品发表于1726年，主要反应了18世纪前半期英国社会的种种矛盾。其中利用了大量的讽刺对比和夸张的手法以及虚构的情节刻画了当时的英国，而且每一处情节作者都描绘细致且生动有趣，给人身临其境的感觉。当我们阅读小人国，大人国的时候，我们将会明显的感受到社会所存在的弊端，党派之间的纷争，国家的内忧外患，令人不禁为当时的英国所担心。所有在后两章作者直接创造了飞岛国和慧骃国，虽然这里有“理想国”的感觉但依旧存在奴役制和等级制，所以最终人们心中的“理想国”终究是不可能实现的。这些幻想都是以现实为基础，巧妙的运用不同的讽刺方法，目的是向人们表达出当时英国社会的黑暗和腐败以及人性的险恶。 长期以来，国内外学者对这部作品中的讽刺方法进行了多角度的研究。所以本论文将通过《格列佛游记》中的四个章节，所以本论文将通过《格列佛游记》中的四个章节，从讽刺艺术和讽刺目的这个大的方面进行深入的研究。 关键词：乔纳森·斯威夫特；《格列佛游记》；讽刺方法；讽刺艺术 |
