| 高低语境文化下中美言语交际风格的差异【英语论文】 The Differences of Verbal Communication Style between China and America under High-Context and Low-Context Cultures [Abstract] With the development of society and economic globalization, intercultural communication becomes increasingly close. Nevertheless, it’s not easy to communicate properly. People need to overcome the obstacles caused by cultural differences in order to achieve successful communication with those who come from different cultural backgrounds. Culture has a deep and interconnected relationship with communication. It also has a profound impact on communication. The ways and habits of communication are different due to the different living circumstances and cultural backgrounds. People like to explain other’s words in the way of their talking and thinking while communicating, which would make conflicts and barriers resulting in the misunderstanding of other’s words. Therefore, the variety of verbal communication style is the main problem of intercultural communication. In the verbal communication between China and America, the enormous differences give rise to the misunderstanding and failure of communication. Based on high-context and low-context cultures and for the purpose that people can reduce the communication obstacles and conflicts, this thesis compares the differences of verbal communication style between China and America communication, studies the causes resulting in differences and sums up some strategies to reduce the communication barriers when facing differences.
