摘要

随着全球化的发展，越来越多中国优秀的文学作品经译介后走向世界的舞台。文学作品中蕴含着对中国某方面文化的凝练表达，常常存在大量的文化负载词。而文化负载词往往很难在目的语中找到对等词，因此如何在译介过程中恰当准确地处理，使其既能被译文读者接受，又能对外传播中国文化，是一个值得深入思考和探讨的问题。
余华的小说《活着》在国外的读者受众较广，具有较高声誉，但国内外对其英译的研究却较少。因此本文将依据奈达的五类文化负载词的分类标准，以《活着》英译本为例，采用定性和定量分析相结合的方式对其中的文化负载词的翻译方法进行分类研究。异化和归化是翻译过程中处理文化信息最常用的两大方式，译者应根据信息出现的语境和目的语读者的文化历史背景，选择恰当的方法。但两种翻译方法并没有孰优孰劣之分，翻译中要据具体情况，把两种方法有机地结合起来，有效地传递文化信息。
