傲慢与偏见的婚姻观【英文】

摘要


婚姻是人们的头等大事之一。从表面形式上看,是双方财富、心理和生理的结合;从本质上来看,是双方的一种独定的社会盟约。简·奥斯汀的这部小说《傲慢与偏见》,通过里面不同人物的婚姻为我们展示了一些婚姻的动机,我们可以从中看出,婚姻的动机很复杂,即经济、地位、子女和感情等等。他们的婚姻也为当代人提供了参考与思考,两个人究竟具备什么条件才适合结婚,才能结婚。本文对此进行了详细的描写,揭示了资本主义社会的婚姻观是以财产,金钱作为基础的婚姻关系。从而流露出对女性婚姻自由、平等、爱情的向往,批判了传统观念并且描绘了理想婚姻。本文将分析探讨小说中人物的婚姻观。

Abstract

Marriage is one of people’ s top priorities.On the surface, it is a combination of wealth,psychology and physiology on both sides; In essence, it is a unique social covenant between the two sides. Jane Austen’ s novel pride and prejudice,through the marriage of different characters inside, shows us some motives for marriage. We can see from it that the motives for marriage are complex, such as economic status, children and feelings and so on. Their marriage also provides reference and reflection for contemporary people: What are the necessities for a marriage? This novel has carried on the detailed description,has revealed the capitalist view of marriage is to take the property as the foundation marriage relations. It also reveals the yearning for a free and equal love of women’ s marriage, criticized traditional ideas and portrayed the ideal marriage. This paper will analyze and discuss the characters’ view of marriage in the novel.
