TheReflectionofOscarWilde’sIndividualPersonalityofAestheticThoughtsinthePictureofDorianGray Abstract: The Picture of Dorian Gray tells the story of pure Dorian Gray after listening to Henry’s words that he wants to have fun in time, he is no longer a pure and kind person. He has done a lot of wrong things and killed a lot of people. Wilde’s works reflect his personal personality. He put his thoughts and sincerity into his works and expressed his love and pursuit of aestheticism with his literary works. This paper mainly takes Oscar Wilde’s aesthetic thought as the theoretical basis. First of all, it reflects Wilde’s personality by analyzing the aesthetic thoughts in the Picture of Dorian Gray. What’s more, according to the three main characters in the novel to map Wilde’s abnormal personality. Last but not least, it reflects the negative influence of aesthetic thought through the change of character characteristics of the novel. Through the study of the above aspects, it is concluded that Wilde’s abnormal personal personality and aesthetic thought that art is above everything are not in line with the present objective facts. The main purpose of this study is to help the researches of Wilde’s aestheticism, and also hope that the majority of scholars who study aesthetic thoughts can look at aestheticism from a good perspective.
