Juno Diaz became famous in 1996 with the collection of short stories "Indulgence". In 2007, he published his first novel "The Short and Wonderful Life of Oscar Wao" which was widely acclaimed. From the 1940s to the 1990s, the historical background of Domega and the cultural background of national rejuvenation created Oscar Vau’s short and wonderful life. This is an extremely painful era, suffering from the dual oppression of dictatorship and cultural discrimination. The novel tells the tragic fate of a family under Trujillo's brutal tyranny. In humorous language, he tells the life of the fat man Oscar Wao. He was bloated, depressed, suffering from neglect and ridicule. His life is only "Ultraman", "StarCraft" and "Fantastic Four". The novel is alternately narrated from the perspectives of Oscar’s sister Lola and her ex-boyfriend Yunier. The book is mainly about Oscar Wao's life narrated by the first-person narrator Yunil. This article uses trauma theory, trauma subject, desire theory, and desire subject analysis to explore the tragedy of the Oscar family. Individuals represented by Oscar Wao grew up in single-parent families, resulting in primitive lack, and lack and deprivation made the subject of desire established. Oscar Wao and his family members were unable to be satisfied while wandering between the passive narcissistic desire and the active desire for other love. Big desires and small desires conflict and oppose each other, and the protagonist's pursuit of love and the struggle attitude to maintain hegemony is to resist alienation in a distorted world and persist in the subject's pursuit of effort.
