TED演讲在英语口语教学中的运用研究

Abstract


With the development of globalization,the communication between countries is increasingly frequent, and English, as the world's lingua franca, is gradually receiving attention. As a skill of English learning,oral English is particularly important in the process of English learning. But under the influence of exam-oriented education,oral English has become a weak or even ignored link for most English learners, which restricts the improvement of their language output ability. Therefore, it is imperative to analyze the existing problems in oralEnglish teaching, develop a variety of resources to assist oral English teaching and improve the existing oral English teaching mode.

As a new spoken English teaching resource,TED speeches have the advantages of rich topics, novel content, and authentic expression. They can improve students' interest in learning and language expression ability, expand students' knowledge, and solve problems in oral English teaching. At the same time, TED speeches can also enrich the existing oralteaching model, so as to achieve the goal of oral teaching.

There are few foreign researches on TED speeches in oral English teaching,and most foreign researches focus on the value of the feasibility of TEDspeeches as a learning resource,while domestic research on theapplication of TED speeches in English teaching is also mostly focusing on discussing the advantages and characteristics of TED speech itself and its advantages as an assistant to college students' audiovisual teaching.

This document will explain the use of TED speeches in college oral English teaching and the implementation of courses. It will be explained separately from the three course implementation stages: before class, during class and after class. Finally, a summary statement is made to explain the advantages of using TED speech in oral English teaching and the implementation stage of the course,aiming to provide new teaching resources for oral English teaching incolleges and universities,and to improve the existing oral teaching methods of colleges and universities, and to provide reference for improving the students' oral English ability.
