价值取向理论视角浅析中西女性个人形象改造差异分析——以《粉熊救兵》和《你怎么这么好看》为例

Abstract


A good personal image is the respect to others and ourselves, and more and more people pay attention to it. You Are So Beautiful and Queer Eye are both the reality shows about personal image reconstruction from China and America. This thesis aims to reveal the differences between the two reality shows and explain thereasons for the differences, so as to deepen the understanding of the cultural differences between China and the West and promote cross-cultural communication by comparing the female personal image reconstruction made by the guests from the two reality shows.
Based on the content analysis of You Are So Beautiful and Queer Eye,this thesis compares the differences between Chinese and Western female personal image reconstruction in five aspects including clothing, food, appearance, home design and psychological emotion and explain the reasons for these differences from three aspects time orientation, human relationship orientation and human-and-nature relationship orientation according to Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck’s Values Orientation Theory. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that in the aspects of clothing and home design,Chinese guests chase for the public’s aesthetic, while western guests pursue individuals’ personality. The reason is that from the human relationship orientation,the formers adhere to the collateral orientation while the latters adhere to the individualistic orientation. In the aspect of food,Chinese guest adheres to the traditional concept of diet while western guest pursues innovation. The reason is that from the time orientation,the former adheres to the past orientation while the latter adheres to the future direction. In the aspect of appearance,Chinese guest advocates an open attitude and uses cosmetics to change female’s appearance, while western guest holds a conservative attitude to maintain their appearance by skincare. The difference exists due to from the human-and-nature orientation,which refers to that the former is inclined to conquer nature while the latter is inclined to comply with nature orientation. In the aspect of psychological emotion,Chinese guest keeps a negative attitudetowards the past of the modified objects while Western guest keeps an affirmative attitude and encourage them to grasp the present and live in the present. This is because from the time orientation,the former leans towards the future orientation while the latter leans towards the present orientation.

摘 要

良好的形象是对他人及自己的尊重,越来越受到人们的关注和重视。《你怎么这么好看》与《粉熊救兵》分别是中国和美国的素人个人形象改造真人秀节目。本文旨在通过对比两档节目嘉宾所做的女性个人形象改造,揭示二者间的差异并解释导致差异的原因,以加深对中西方文化差异的理解,促进跨文化交际。
基于对《粉熊救兵》与《你怎么这么好看》两档节目的内容分析,本文从服饰、家居设计、饮食、仪容、心理情感五方面对比分析中西方女性个人形象改造的差异,并依据克拉克洪与斯乔贝克价值取向理论从时间取向、关系取向、人与自然取向三个方面解释了造成这些差异的原因。本文分析得出:在服装与家居设计方面,中国嘉宾趋向于大众审美,而西方嘉宾趋向于追求个性风格,这是因为在关系取向上前者坚持附属性取向而后者坚持个体主义取向。在饮食方面,中国嘉宾坚持传统的饮食观念而西方嘉宾追求创新,这是由于在时间取向上前者坚持过去取向而后者坚持未来去向。在仪容方面,中国嘉宾持开放的态度,接受使用化妆品来改造容貌,而西方嘉宾持保守的态度以护肤来保持容貌,原因在于前者在人与自然关系取向上表现为征服自然取向而后者倾向于服从自然。在心理情感方面,中国嘉宾对被改造对象的过去多持否定态度并强调作出改变,而西方嘉宾多持肯定态度并鼓励把握现在、活在当下,这是因为在时间取向上前者偏向未来取向而后者倾向于现在取向。
