ABSTRACT

As a common social phenomenon, politeness is an essential way of communication in the process of communication. It is an important code of conduct for people to maintain daily life and it communication, and is a fixed norm and civilized means widely used by social members and gradually formed. Because they have different way of thinking, Chinese and Western people have different politeness principles, different cultural background, and which has formed the courtesy style different from western politeness principles of compliance. In order to investigate the differences of English and Chinese politeness and origin, for people to better use the politeness principle, and to promote the smooth progress of cross-cultural communication, the paper also puts forward some suggestions on how to improve intercultural communication and foreign language teaching from the perspective of cultural differences.

摘  要

作为一种普遍存在的社会现象,礼貌是人们在交际过程中使用到的必不可少的交际方式。是维系人们日常生活和交际的重要行为准则,是被社会成员广泛使用且逐渐形成的固定规范和文明手段。中西社会由于不同的思维方式、不同的礼貌原则、不同的文化背景而形成了风格迥异的礼貌用语,文章从中西方遵从的礼貌原则出发,探讨英汉礼貌用语的差异和成因,以便人们更好的使用礼貌用语,从而促进跨文化交际的顺利进行。本文还从礼貌用语差异的角度,对如何提高跨文化交际和外语教学提出了一些建议。
