| 功能对等理论指导下《沃尔特·米蒂的秘密生活》翻译实践报告 摘 要 本论文是一篇英译汉翻译实践报告，本次翻译实践原材料是一篇短篇小说《沃尔特·米蒂的秘密生活》，这篇小说讲述的是男主人公沃尔特.米蒂在载妻子去镇上的时候做的五个梦的故事。小说是以幻想开始，以幻想结束。通过现实与幻想的错位，讲述了一个荒谬的故事。基于此，本次翻译实践以奈达的功能对等理论为指导，以求目的语读者能够尽可能地获得贴近原作的感受。本翻译报告将对此次汉译过程的各项操作进行详细描述，实践报告共分为五个部分，第一部分主要是介绍此次翻译任务的目标、背景和意义，第二部分是解释原文的背景，介绍关于作者和关于原文。第三部分是对翻译的难点的描述。第四部分是对翻译方法的一一描述，尤其是介绍在奈达理论指导下如何利用某些翻译策略实现“功能对等”。第五部分主要是通过对整个翻译过程的总结和反思。此次翻译实践不仅是译者将本科所学专业知识融会贯通的过程，还是自身不断学习反思和进步的过程。 关键词：《沃尔特·米蒂的秘密生活》；功能对等理论；翻译 Abstract This is a report on the English-Chinese translation of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.The raw material for this translation practice is a short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".The novel tells the story of five dreams that the hero, Mitty, has while driving his wife to town.A novel begins and ends with a fantasy.An absurd story is told through the dislocation of reality and fantasy.Based on this, the practice is guided by functional equivalence theory,so that the target language reader can get the feelings of being close to the original as much as possible. The report focuses on description of the English-Chinese translation processof The Secret Life of Walter Mitty in detail and it is composed of five parts. The first part mainly introduces the goal, background and significance of the translation task.The second part is to explain the background of the originaltext, introduce about the author and about the original text. The third part describes the difficulties of translation.The fourth part describes the methods of translation,especially how to use some translation strategies to achieve "functional equivalence" under the guidance of Nida's theory. The fifth part is the summary and reflection of the whole translation process.This translation practice is not only a process for translators to integrate the professional knowledge they have learned in undergraduate studies,but also a process of continuous learning, reflection and progress.
