《宠儿》的文学伦理学解读 Toni Morrison is an American black woman writer. As the only black American woman writer who has won the Nobel Prize for Literature, Toni Morrison has had a profound influence in today's literary world and is recognized as one of the most outstanding novelists in the world. Morrison's novels focus on the exploration of African-Americans' cultural survival and cultural identity in the mainstream white society. In Beloved, in order not to make her children repeat her miserable fateas slaves, Sethee resolutely killed her young child who had just climbed. Eighteen years later, the girl Sethee killed came back, and she took revenge on her mother. The book is full of bitter poetry and intense suspense.Morrison's works have attracted much attention both at home and abroad, and the academic circles have done a lot of research on his works in recent years. However, the literary analysis of Beloved is mostly limited to feminism and maternallove, and few scholars interpret this novel from the perspective of literary ethics. Literary ethics criticism is an active exploration made by Professor Nie Zhenzhao on the basis of foreign traditional ethics criticism. It holds that literature is the product of history and aims to analyze and interpret literary works in a specific ethical environment from a historical perspective. This thesis intends to interpret the ethical dilemma and ethical identity change faced by the main characters in Beloved in a specific ethical environment from the perspective of literary ethics criticism, and express the author's ethical pursuits of truth, goodness and beauty. The thesis consists of three parts: cintroduction, text and conclusion. The first part is the introduction of the thesis, which introduces the author's life, the novel Beloved and its research status at home and abroad, as well as the connotation and main contents of literary ethics criticism theory. The second part is the main body of the thesis, including three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the ethical dilemma of Sethe's infanticide from two aspects: cruel slavery and miserable black women, the double negation of black and white and crazy revenge of Beloved. This ethical dilemma makes Sethe's infanticide controversial. The second chapter discusses the absence and reconstruction of three ethical identities in the novel: mother, couple and children. The third chapter discusses Morrison's ethical pursuits of peace, goodness and sublimation : peace between man and society, friendship between man and others, and growth between man and self. The conclusion of the thesis points out that Morrison reveals in Beloved that dark slavery brings a lot of sufferings to the black community and race, and the author's moral belief and ethical pursuit are well expressed by deeply describing the living conditions of the black community and individual. Thus, love and understanding are Morrison's prescriptions for black people to solve all difficulties. Key words: Beloved; Literary ethics; Ethical dilemma; Ethical identity; Ethical pursuit |
