从精神分析角度解析《红字》中的人物形象

摘要


纳撒尼尔•霍桑是美国心理分析小说的开创者,也是美国文学史上首位写作短篇小说的作家,被称为美国十九世纪最伟大的浪漫主义小说家。其代表作《红字》讲述了发生在北美殖民时期,海斯特、丁梅斯代尔和齐灵渥斯之间的爱情羁绊。国内外许多学者大多是从象征主义和女性主义入手对《红字》进行分析,即使有些涉及人物形象分析,一般都是对单一人物进行分析,从精神分析角度解析作品主要人物形象的更少。本研究拟从精神分析角度对作品中的人物形象进行分析,通过研究不同人物的悲剧人生和当时社会对其人生的影响,从而帮助读者更好地理解人物的心理和人性的意义。

Abstract

Nathaniel Hawthorne is the pioneer of American psychological novels,he is also the first short story writer in the history of American literature. He is known as the greatest romantic novelist in the United States in the 19th century.The Scarlet Letter tells the fetters of love in the NorthAmerican colonies among Hester、Dimmesdale and Chillingworth. Many scholars at home and abroad analyse this novel from symbolism and feminism,even if there are some article analyse the character,it is generally the analysis of a single character. And analysis of the main characters from the perspective of psychoanalysis are less.This study intends to analyze the characters in the novel from the perspective of psychoanalysis.By studying the tragic lives of different characters and the influence ofthe society at that time on their lives,it can help readers better understand the psychological and human significance of the human nature.
