Cultural Differences Between China and the West from the Perspective of Business Dialogues Abstract: Under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model,this thesis analyzes five cases in the project of Interpreting Asia Interpreting Europe, explains the causes of the imbalance in the effort allocation of interpreters, and puts forward improvement plans. According to Gile’s theoretical analysis of the Effort Model,the process of consecutive interpretation can be divided into two phases: comprehension phase and speech production phase. Based on the main efforts of the first phase and the production effort of the second phase in the Effort Model, the author selects representative cases for analysis,so that the interpreter can master certain interpreting skills and improve the quality of consecutive interpretation. The thesis is divided into five parts.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of the project of Interpreting Asia Interpreting Europe. The second chapter reviews the previous research on Gile’s Effort Model.The third chapter analyzes the theoretical framework that the author relies on when writing the thesis. In the fourth chapter, the author analyzes cases in the project of Interpreting Asia Interpreting Europe based on the Effort Model,explores the causes of the imbalance of effort distribution of interpreters, and gives the corresponding improvement.
