The Relationship between English Reading and Writing in junior High School under the New Curriculum Standard

Abstract:Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are the four basic skills of English learning, among which listening and speaking are oral skills, and reading and writing are written skills. In the process of learning English, listening, speaking, reading and writing are mutually infiltrated and interact.Although reading and writing rank second in these four skills, English reading and writing occupies a large part of the examination of students' English learning ability. The teaching of reading ability is the top priority of English teaching. Through reading, students can not only understand the thoughts that the article wants to express, but also cultivate their sense of reading language, accumulate vocabulary and beautiful sentences, and also accumulate materials for writing. Writing is often regarded as the most difficult, because writing is the most direct way of expression for people to express in writing, which directly reflects a person's language skills. However, English writing can better reflect a student's true English level. The accumulation and application of vocabulary, the extensive collection of writing materials, and the beautiful and logical expression of the language all require strong writing skills. However, the current situation of English reading and writing teaching in junior high schools is not optimistic. For junior high school students at the beginning of English learning, English reading and writing are difficult to learn English, and reading and writing classes are also very difficult for teachers.Therefore, this research aims at the problems and predicaments faced by junior high school students in English reading and writing classes. By exploring the relationship between English reading and writing in junior high schools under the new curriculum standard, this study aims to link English reading and writing to enable students to be flexible  Master relevant reading and writing skills to improve English learning ability.
