《老人与海》中主人公圣地亚哥的性格分析

Abstract: Ernest Hemingway(1898-1961), a famous American writer, is regarded as one of the most influential and outstanding writers in the 20th century of the world. He has written many works, among his works, The Old Man and the Sea(1952) is the most famous one. In this novel, Hemingway explored the theme that man showed courage and willpower when he was confronted with the challenges alone. The thesis tends to probe into Santiago in the following aspects: confidence and courage, love of nature and respect for life, expectation for the future. Meanwhile, it also analyses the character of Santiago. From the analysis of Santiago, we can learn that when facing miserable fate, man should be brave and should struggle with all the pains to love life.

摘要:海明威(1898-1961),一位著名的美国作家,被认为是20世纪世界上最有影响力和最杰出的作家之一。他写了许多作品,在他的作品中,老人与海(1952)是最著名的作品。在这本小说中,海明威探讨了一个人在面对挑战时表现出勇气和毅力的主题。本文主要从以下几个方面对圣地亚哥进行了探讨:信心与勇气、对自然的热爱、对生命的尊重、对未来的期望。同时,它也分析了圣地亚哥的特点。通过对圣地亚哥的分析,我们可以了解到,当面对悲惨的命运时,人应该勇敢,应该为热爱生活而奋斗。
