摘要

自由与平等一直是当今各个国家关注的热点话题。美国作为世界经济发展的第一大国，在自由与平等的历史上有一定的发言权，而《独立宣言》的作者之一富兰克林所写的《富兰克林自传》真实地描绘了美国独立前的社会现状，包括经济、政治、文化等。
本文以富兰克林的《富兰克林自传》为基础，尝试研究富兰克林在个人成长和社会变革过程中对自由和平等的信仰。本论文分为引言、文献回顾、《富兰克林自传》中的自由、《富兰克林自传》中的平等和结论五个部分。本文重点从四个方面对自由和平等两个主题进行了分析，第一个主题是自由观：主要围绕思想和文化两个方面展开分析；第二个主题是平等观：主要从美国独立和十三美德两个方面进行研究。通过这四个方面来探究富兰克林的自由观和平等观以及它们的产生和发展过程，由此可以更深刻地理解这部作品的现实意义，也可以让读者更加了解美国自由平等初期发展情况。

On the Faith of Freedom and Equality

in The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

Abstract：Freedom and equality have always been heated topics of concern for various countries today. The United States, as the strongest country in the world in terms of economic development, has a certain say in the history of freedom and equality.The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, written by Benjamin Franklin,one of the writers of the Declaration of Independence,truly depicts the current social situation of the United States before independence, including economy, politics, and culture.
Based on The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin,this thesis is intended to make a tentative study of Benjamin Franklin's beliefs on freedom and equality in the process of personal growth and social change. The thesis is divided into four parts: introduction,freedom in The autobiography of Benjamin Franklin ,equality in The autobiography of Benjamin Franklin and conclusion. This thesis focuses on four aspects of the two themes of freedom and equality,the first theme is the concept of freedom studied in the two respects of theideology and cultural development;the second theme is the concept of equality analyzed in the two respects of the American independence and thirteen virtues. Through these four aspects to explore the emergence and development of Franklin's beliefs in the freedom and equality,the study has been made to help tohave a deeper understanding of the practical significance of the work as well as let readers know more about the development of freedom and equality in America at the very beginning.
