The Study of CBA Rules Translation from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

Abstract：Basketball is of paramount importance in our country, the rules of which plays a key role in the development. So we must pay attention to the basketball rules that is translated from the FIBA rules.This essay talks about the translation strategies and skills of the rules translation based on the differences between Chinese and English. Each method is analyzed from the perspective of Skopos theory, including skopos, coherence and fidelity principle. The translation of sports field is as crucial as the other fields.What’s more, the translation of basketball rulesmust be exact and clear, based on a proper theory. Therefore, after analyzing the CBA rules translation,we come to know a new translation field: sports translation. The CBA rules translation could set an example to the other sports.
