| 《朋友与爱人：情感关系的相处之道》（节选）翻译实践报告 Abstract The project involved the translation of the Friends and Lovers: How to Create the Relationships You Want,(Chapter One and Chaper Two) which is written by the American writer Marc Allen and the report is based on it. The book is about how to create satisfing relationships with people around us,in which the writer shares his own stories of relationships and provides somesolid technques for creating satisfing realationships for enjoying a happy life. According to text types by Katharine Reiss,the text of this translation project belongs to mixed text, which is between informative text and expressive text. Therefore, the key of this translation is to convey the information of thesource text, but also pay attention to the writing style of the source text. This is reflected in vocabulary and sentence patterns respectively.At the lexical level, it involves word extension and diction.At the sentence level, it involves the translation of long sentences and passive sentences.Aiming at the above problems,the translator took Vermeer'sSkopos theory as the theoretical guidance, and adopted such translation strategies as four-character idiom, division, inversion and amplification to deal with the target text. The significance of translating Friends and Lovers: How to Create the Relationships You Want is that from the translation,personal translation skills can be enhanced and the translator has gained further understanding of the skopos theory. Secondly, the translator understood that translation calls for perfection,which requires not only accurate understanding of the original text but also solid literary foundation and careful polishing of the translated text. Only in this way can an excellent translation be presented.
