Abstract


With the attention paid to English learning in recent years, English has come into the classroom of primary school students. It is an important task to stimulate students’ interest in learning English and to cultivate students’ interest in learning English. The game plays a huge role in the classroom of primary English teaching, but there are some problems in the process of implementation. This thesis mainly focuses on the puzzles that English teachers have in game teaching, discusses some problems existing in classroom games and the specific methods and countermeasures to solve them.
English game teaching is an effective method, which accords with the inherent characteristics of pupils' curiosity. The joy brought by the game can stimulate their desire to learn English and cultivate their interest in learning English. Play is a child’s nature. Piaget has said that cognition originates from activities. The key to primary English teaching is to stimulate students’ interest in learning, so that they can acquire the initial perceptual knowledge of English and voluntarily learn English in a strong sense of curiosity and thirst for knowledge. According to the psychological characteristics of primary school students, the game is the most direct and effective to attract their attention. Games are the most direct and effective ways to attract them. Therefore, the design of reasonable and interesting games in primary school English classroom teaching will make the English classroom become a paradise for students to learn English and thus love to learn English.
