| 功能对等视角下的商务合同翻译策略【英语论文】 Abstract Today, with the continuous development of economic globalization, international exchanges and cooperation have also become more frequent. As a necessary part of international business communication, international business contracts have a major role. How to accurately translate contracts is the prerequisite for successful business cooperation and negotiation. Since the parties signing the contract come from different countries and have different language and cultural backgrounds, in order to achieve functional equivalence in the translation of business contracts, it is necessary to understand the cultural characteristics of the target language country and the linguistic features of the business contract. At the same time, the translator should choose the expression that meets the expression of the target language. Functional equivalence has a good applicability in the English translation of business contracts. According to Nida's functional equivalence theory, translation must first reach the equivalence of meaning, and then reach the formal equivalence. An obvious feature of a business contract is the rigor of its form. Therefore, in the process of translation, translators should strive to achieve formal equivalence on the basis of meaning equivalence. Contract translation can achieve double equivalence between form and content. If there is a conflict between the two aspects, the translator should first consider the equivalence of meaning, and at the same time try to consider the equivalence of the form. From the perspective of “functional equivalence” translation theory, this paper analyzes the equivalence of English business contracts in terms of lexical, syntactic and textual level, and combines some examples to explore the specific application of “functional equivalence” theory in the translation of business contracts. On this basis, this paper puts forward the relevant translation strategies for translation of English business contracts, hoping to provide reference for the Chinese translation of English business contracts.
