摘 要

在任何时期，统治者对边疆的管理极为重视，自宋夏交战以来，尤其是灵州之战之后，北宋西北边境诸州的战略地位不断上升，环庆路北端的环州（今甘肃环县）首当其冲。环州在旧石器时期已经有了人类活动，在各朝各代有不同的建置，历史悠久。其坐落于黄土高原，交通沿河谷分布，境内马莲河水穿过，历来为少数民族集聚地。西夏崛起以后，屡次南下侵犯，引起了北宋统治者的重视，并且派遣范仲淹、种世衡等人经略环州，范仲淹在环州进行防御体系中主要发挥堡寨的作用，在位置险要的地区修筑堡寨，堡寨有驻兵、安抚蕃部还有屯田，给军队后勤补给的功能。宋朝在环州一带除了军事体系的建立还及时调整环州周边地区行政区划，使各路相互协调，相互支援。在西夏铁骑南下时，起到了防御作用。

ABSTRACT

In any period, the rulers attached great importance to the management of the border areas. Since the war of song and xia, the strategic status of the states in the northwest frontier of the Earlier Song Dynasty has risen sharply, especially the Huanzhou (nowaday Huanxian county, Gansu province) at the Earlier end of Huanqing road. As the "gateway to the west" and the "throat of chang 'an" in the Earlier Song Dynasty, Huanzhou has a special geographical location and a complex ethnic composition. Therefore, it assumed important responsibilities. By summarizing the previous research results, the author analyzes the important role of huanzhou in the song and xia wars. This paper analyzes the functions of military barrier villages in huanzhou, such as garrison, land, management, etc., and the changes of administrative divisions in huanzhou, so as to coordinate each other and build a defense system together.Not only to resist the West Xia riding south, but also to today's national integration has a positive significance.
